With the new G20 Ethernet motor control module, Pepperl+Fuchs is expanding its portfolio with a powerful and flexibly scalable solution for controlling motorized rollers in conveyor technology.
The Ethernet G20 system consists of the Ethernet G20 controller with up to four lines, each comprising 15 G20 motor control modules, with each motor control module providing up to two motor drive connections. This innovative system allows for the flexible control of up to 120 motor drives (MDRs) via a single IP address.
Extended diagnostic data such as current consumption, voltage level, or runtime per MDR provide deep insights into the condition of the application, enabling preventive or even predictive maintenance approaches.
For each module, you can decide individually whether it is operated in ZPA mode or via the controller (PLC). This allows different requirements to be implemented within a single conveyor line. The mixed use of both module types ensures efficient utilization of the control system: While simple conveyor tasks can be controlled decentrally and quickly within the module itself, the control system remains reserved for complex tasks. Diagnostic data such as temperature and current consumption per module can be accessed both in the control system and via the REST API interface.
Ideal for straight conveyor lines without changes in direction. The logic is integrated directly into the module, which shortens cycle times and saves computing power at the control level. At the same time, it also reduces the amount of programming required.
Ideal for transitions, intersections, or junctions where goods are distributed specifically to the left or right. More complex process steps such as barcode scanning or weight recording are handled centrally in this mode.
